Ushe, the Cholla Cactus Kachina
Ornament

Ushe appears with the Koyemsi or Mudhead Kachinas in the early spring ceremonial dances at Hano. He carries a roll of Piki bread which has a piece of cholla cactus inside. As he dances, the people in the audience try to take a piece of the Piki bread without pricking their fingers.
