Navuk, the Cocklebur Kachina
Necklace

Navuk’china is sometimes called Pachok’china but both names mean Cocklebur Kachina. When he appears as a runner, he carries a handful of cockleburs and if his contestant doesn’t win the race he rubs them into the contestant’s hair. He sometimes appears in the Mixed Kachina Dance in which he is more elaborately dressed and carries a bow and a cocklebur plant.
